Today, it’s my birthday, and nothing says how old I am better than telling you I’m still using RSS as my main source of news and learning.
Social networks are distracting, email newsletters add spam, so I’m a happy RSS subscriber using Reader.
And to celebrate my 40th birthday, I’m sharing a list of 40 of my favourite blogs and YouTube channels talking about ServiceNow.
Some people haven’t posted in years or are as inconsistent as I am.
Some have hundreds of articles, while others have just a few.
Some are “famous” in the ecosystem, while others have recently started and might be wondering if somebody is reading them or they are shouting into the void.
What they all have in common: I’ve enjoyed their content and continue learning from them.
Below, in alphabetical order:
- 31 people feeds
- 3 feeds not tied to a single person (or unknown)
- 6 official ServiceNow feeds
1. Andrew Pishchulin | Flare Framework
Worth watching: Quick Start Guide on Using React to Build Advanced UI/UX in ServiceNow
Andrew’s post on how to build and deploy a React application in ServiceNow was a great starting point when Roberto and I decided to build Documate.
Now, he has even shared a React app boilerplate pre-configured for ServiceNow deployment.
2. Arnoud Kooi | SNUtils
Worth watching: sn-scriptsync 3.0 update
Everybody should know by now about SNUtils. The future I love the most is the sn-scriptsync that allows you to code in VS Code and keep the code synced with your instance.

Worth reading: Get Started With Update Set Automations in Yokohama
I’m not working much with update sets lately, but it’s good to see some new possibilities.
4. Carleen Carter | smartCarleen
Worth reading: Ready | for | Knowledge ?
Big events can feel overwhelming, especially for introverts like me.
Carleen shares some useful tips to survive these events.
5. Cezary Basta
Worth reading: Refresh your developer experience
To be honest, I don’t care much about ServiceNow themes, as I normally use VS Code when I need to write some code.
But I do enjoy reading about people “hacking” the platform and exploring its limits.
6. Daniel Draes | Daniel’s ServiceNow Bytes
Worth watching: Demo of Custom ServiceNow AI Agent: Movie Info Finder
With all the AI hype, it is not easy to find real examples and not just big words with empty content.

11. Ivan Betev
Worth watching: How to Use Email Digest in ServiceNow to Reduce Notification Overload
When I was young and naive, I thought ServiceNow would kill the need for both Excel and Email.
But ServiceNow has become a source of spam that makes a lot of users disable them completely in the instance or creating rules in Outlook to ignore them.
Email Digest might be the way.
12. Jace Benson | JaceNow
Worth checking: News Jace Pro
I enjoyed watching News with Jace while it lasted, but it probably took a lot of time to do on a regular basis.
My recommendation here is not a specific post but Jace’s ServiceNow News feed.
It is a great place to discover more ServiceNow creators.
13. Jesse Szepieniec
Worth reading: Authenticating against the ServiceNow API with Session Tokens
I stumbled upon Jesse’s blog when I was trying to run some background scripts from my MacBook with Raycast.
Great detailed explanation about JSESSIONID
and g_ck
.
14. John Andersen
Worth reading: Introduction to Static WSDLs in ServiceNow
Back in the day, there was not much info available apart from the ServiceNow wiki.
This was one of the first blogs I found about ServiceNow.
Now we have REST and IntegrationHub to do the heavy lifting. But I still remember having to configure static WSDLs!

Don’t you love it when you try to convince a customer about using a feature and there’s already one short video explaining it much better than you could ever do?

27. Simen Staaby Knudsen | Simen does ServiceNow
Worth watching: Delete / Edit comment UI Action in ServiceNow!
Allowing the edition/deletion of comments is probably not a good idea in a production instance.
But it’s an interesting exercise to try and do it!
