I was convinced that public speaking was a trainable skill and that I could do it even if it drained my energy.
But if you told me that I would be the Toastmaster of the day, and enjoy it… No way!
Yesterday I took the role! And I loved it!
It felt way easier than it seemed when I attended my first meeting as a guest 2 years ago.
I don’t care much about the gamification, the paths and the badges. I completed the first level of my path, which is ok, but that’s not the main reason to keep on going.
I care about the feeling. Taking pleasure in the journey.
Standing in front of a classroom of 20 people and enjoying every single minute of the session. Everything running smoothly as stated in the agenda. A group of amazing people who support each other. Kudos to my fellow “toasties” of Asturias Toastmasters Club!
Can’t wait for the next session when I’ll be delivering my first speech of the second level.
Still have no idea what I’ll be talking about, and I’m ok with that. Now, I know I can do it.
